Based out of Gary, IN, DG Elite will be displaying their 8th-grade
squad in the Jr. Prelude league, which kicks off this weekend in
Memphis, TN. Coach Michael Kobe is very excited to get his squad
on the floor and competing against some of the top teams and
players in the country. DG Elite is a hard-nosed defensive team
that looks to put immense pressure on the opposing team from
start to finish. They look to play fast on offense while being a very
unselfish group that doesn't care about who gets the shine.

Here is a look at some of the key players:

Bryce Kobe (6’1/PG)

Bryce is the key to the DG Elite offensive attack. He controls the
tempo of the game as he plays with great pace. He balances
scoring and facilitating as he shoots it very well from the
perimeter while also doing a good job getting his teammates
involved.

Michael Rivera (5’10/PG)

Michael is a strong and reliable ball handler who provides DG
with another initiator of the offense. He has really good vision and
court sense of where everyone is on the court. He is productive
with his middle game, where he provides scoring. He is a tough

on-ball defender who likes to be disruptive at the offense point of
attack.

Robert Nelson (5’11/SG)

Robert brings maximum energy and effort to the floor. He is
tough off the bounce and finishes well around the basket. With his
scoring prowess, he has the potential to bolster his stock in the
league. Even though he can score the rock, he plays a very
unselfish brand of basketball.

I asked Coach Kobe if he could give me just two names, which he
would say are his most underrated players and what he feels
makes them special?

He quickly mentioned Myshawn Dawson and Paris Brown.
Myshawn is still growing into his body and has a lot of potential
with his developing skill set and size. Paris, the youngest on the
team, is super skilled and is seeing his game mature as he
continues working in the lab. He is going to compete on both ends
of the floor.
