Jerry Deng Shows His Offensive Skill Set

TIP OFF CLASSIC

This past weekend the #TipOffClassic was loaded with some of the best teams in the south! Our scouting and video team took the opportunity to head over to Atlanta, GA and cover all the action. It’s rare to find a true “power forward” (size (6’8), strength, and a low post presence), while also having the skills and shooting ability of a wing/guard. Jerry Deng of the Georgia Stars EYBL is an emerging 2023 prospect that certainly helped raise his stock value over the weekend.

In the game vs Southern Kings (GA), Jerry Deng got hot from behind the arc and showed he can shoot it with the best of them. He has an excellent form to his shot, and he knocked down (5) 3-Point shots on the way to picking up the double-digit win. He continued his strong play Throughout the weekend as the Stars went 3-1 – picking up wins over Atlanta Celtics (3SSB), Bmaze Elite (UAA), & Southern Kings. He runs the floor well, rebounds with a motor, is effective in ball-screens situations, and can stretch the floor with his pretty jumper.

Jerry Deng plays his high school ball at Norcross High (GA), where he was crowned 7A State Champion this year. Deng was an X-Factor in the State Title game as he scored 14 points and added 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. He currently holds offers from Akron, East Carolina, UGA, Georgia State, and Mercer. Standing at (6’8) we expect Jerry Deng to have a breakout summer over the next two live-periods with the Stars, and carry that momentum into his senior year.
