In our very first game of the tournament it was Blake Wilson, of ATL Pivot 17u who quickly caught our staff’s eye with his dominant front-court performance. The 6’6″ forward plays a lot bigger and taller than he really is, and he completely took control of the game for ATL Pivot.

Wilson’s strength and physicality were on full display as he dominated opponents in the painted area: scoring with ease back-to-basket, blocking or altering nearly all shots, and snagging boards with tenacity. He showed his versatility as a player, seamlessly switching onto smaller opponents and running the floor in transition. He has exceptional athleticism and unwavering energy to match, constantly putting pressure on those task with the job of boxing him out or guarding him.

Wilson showcased what appears to be a reliable shot, as he was able to make all of his free throws. His motor, toughness, and ability to put the ball in whole make him a very intriguing prospect. Blake Wilson was the clear standout performer of his team, leading them to a hard-fought 75-72 victory over New Balance’ Southern Kings PRO16.
